"We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

T.S. Eliot
from Four Quartets, final section

John Mosemann, drum set; Paul Gehman, upright acoustic bass and Tim Schumacher, hollow body electric guitar have been working as a trio since 2000. Just north of the Philadelphia enclave of Mount Airy each of these musicians discovered a like-mindedness that creates a sound worth asserting. Individually having played with prominent jazz artists in Philly, New York and beyond they now find their home where they can make music that matters and  feels great. Performance venues have included West Chester University Jazz Festival, Arcadia University, Bethlehem Musikfest and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Their second CD entitled “there” was released in September of 2003, playfully rapt with the jazz tradition, fresh compositions and the shared moment of each performance.

Over the past 20 years all three have performed separately with a host of music aficionados from both near and far. Experiences have included Uri Caine, Grady Tate, Charles Fambrough,  Eddie Gomez, Leon Parker, George Young, Jay Leonhart, Kris Jensen (Dickey Betts, Maynard Ferguson), Dena DeRose, Joey DeFrancesco (w/Papa John DeFrancesco & John Jr.), Roger Kellaway, Paul Bollenbeck, Bob Mintzer (Yellow Jackets), Steve Davis (Chick Corea, Origin, One for All, Art Blakey), Slide Hampton, Urbie Green, Steve Giordano, John Swana, John Hollenbeck (The Claudia Quintet, Bob Brookmeyer's New Art Orchestra), Marian McPartland, Sherrie Maricle, Slam Stewart, Roy Ayres, Jon Faddis, Farid Barron and more.
